ABOUT INFRARED HEAT

If you’re new to infrared heated workouts, you’ve come to the right place. That’s because at SOL, you will experience a specialized form of heat that goes beyond traditional ‘hot yoga’, providing a host of amazing health benefits.

How it works:

Unlike forced hot air often used in other studios, infrared heat is comprised of invisible waves of energy emitted from specialized panels.  This kind of heat penetrates beyond our skin, reaching our internal organs.

As these waves of energy are absorbed by the body, molecules begin to vibrate, helping to flush and release stored toxins, fat and impurities from our cells into our blood stream. These waste products are then released from the body in the form of sweat.

The result is a full body detox at a cellular level! And who doesn’t want that?

Other benefits of infrared heat include:

WEIGHT LOSS

Research has shown infrared heat can increase your calorie expenditure by more than 30%, thereby promoting a faster metabolism for easier weight loss and/or weight maintenance.

STRESS AND ANXIETY REDUCTION

As circulation in the body is increased and stored toxins are released, the result is less stress on internal organs, which helps relieve tension in our minds, our muscles and joints.

YOUNGER LOOKING SKIN

As we age, we naturally lose collagen and elastin – the foundations for healthy, youthful skin.  Research shows infrared energy can help stimulate production of both, thereby lessening the appearance of wrinkles and sagging skin.

HEALTHIER INTERNAL ORGANS

Sweating is your body’s natural cleanser, releasing stored toxins, impurities and waste products.  It also supports internal organs like your kidney and liver for improved functioning and longevity.

BETTER MUSCLE & JOINT MOTION

As energy waves penetrate the body, muscle and joints not only heal faster from injury and inflammation, but move more freely.  It’s why physical therapists will often use infrared when treating chronic physical ailments.

A few tips to help you prepare for the heat:

  • Hydrate before, during and after class with electrolytes added to your water.
  • Breathe with control and focus and go at your own pace. 😊.
  • Wear sweat-friendly, comfortable clothing.
  • If it feels too much, that’s okay – take a break to rehydrate and rest.
